Scottish theatres will not be able to open until October at the earliest
Theatres will not be permitted to re-open for indoor performances in Scotland until ‘at least’ early October.
The Scottish PM, Nicola Sturgeon, has said it is hoped this will reduced the size of gatherings and kerb the spread of infection.
It had originally been said that theatres could re-open on 14 September but this date has been pushed back, with a review due on 1 October. All being well, venues will be able to welcome back audiences from 5 October.
Sturgeon said: "I must stress again that it remains an indicative date and a final decision can be taken only much nearer the time."
