Phantom plans West End return in June 2021 with Killian Donnelly in title role

Killian Donnelly

It has been announced that Andrew Lloyd Webber is planning the return of The Phantom of the Opera, with hopes to reopen the famous production at Her Majesty’s Theatre from 5 June 2021, providing that social distancing is no longer required.

Whilst there is still no confirmation as to which production will be playing, the famous original or the touring version of the show, it is thought that there will be some changes when the show returns.

Initial casting has also been announced for the show’s return. Killian Donnelly, who was playing the role of The Phantom on the UK Tour before the pandemic struck, will lead the cast back into the West End.

Donnelly is due to perform 'The Music Of The Night' from the musical on Strictly’s It Takes Two tonight (4 December) at 6.30pm, when Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber will also appear as part of the Friday panel.

As previous reported, Bill Bailey and Oti Mabuse will be dancing an Argentine Tango to the title number from the show on Saturday evening as part of Musicals Week.

We will be tuning in, Besties!
