Nominations announced for 2022 BAFTA awards

Nominations have been announced for the 75th BAFTA awards, with West Side Story receiving five nominations.

Ariana Debose has been recognised for her role of Anita in Stephen Spielberg’s West Side Story in the EE Rising Star and Supporting Actress categories, alongside Mike Faist (Riff) for Supporting Actor. The film itself has also been acknowledged in the Production Design and Casting categories.

Everybody’s Talking About Jamie has been nominated in the Outstanding British Film category, with Cyrano also featuring.

Jessie Buckley, who is currently starring as Sally Bowles in Cabaret, has also been nominated for Supporting Actress for The Lost Daughter, along with Ruth Negga (soon to be appearing alongside Daniel Craig in Macbeth on Broadway) for her role in Passing.

Rebel Wilson will host this year’s awards ceremony at the Royal Albert Hall on 13 March.
