Figs In Wigs bring LITTLE WIMMIN to WOW - Women Of The World 2022 Festival ahead of UK tour
Little Wimmin, the gloriously uproarious and critically acclaimed feminist adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women from Figs in Wigs, is be revived as part of the Women of the World (WOW) London 2022 Festival before heading out on a UK tour.
The play will run at the Southbank Centre in London from 11-13 March as part of WOW, which is the London edition of the world’s biggest and most comprehensive festival which celebrates women, girls and non-binary people.
The show will then play in Cambridge on 19 & 20 June, before going to Liverpool (28 & 29 April), Lancaster (5 May), and Bristol on 7 & 8 June.
Little Wimmin is written and directed by Figs in Wigs and performed by a cast of five women who take the classic novel and turn it into a wild, irreverent and darkly funny surreal experience.
Figs in Wigs are made up of Alice Roots, Rachel Gammon, Rachel Porter, Sarah Moore and Suzanna Hurst. Rachel Gammon also designed the costumes, with additional costumes by Emma Bailey and Saskia Martindale.
The set design is by Emma Bailey, with lighting by Gene Giron and sound by Suzanna Hurst and Alicia Turner.
