Casting announced for Roald Dahl’s THE WONDERFUL STORY OF HENRY SUGAR
Casting has been announced for the upcoming Scottish tour and world premiere of Roald Dahl’s The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, which opens at Perth Theatre from 24 March-2 April.
The company features David Rankine as the titular character, with Eve Buglass as Mary, Johndeep More as Imhrat Khan, Rosalind Sydney as Dr Jane Cartwright and Dave Fishley as Michael, and Myles Sembi as an understudy.
Rob Drummond’s play is adapted from Dahl’s 1977 collection of seven short stories entitled The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar (and Six More), and is directed by Ben Harrison.
The piece follows “an idle playboy who longs for even more money… a teenage girl who longs for online fame… and a conjuror who longs to be believed” and will feature Dahl’s darkly mischievous signature tone, alongside magic and illusions.
Following Perth, the production will visit Stirling’s Macrobert Arts Centre and Eden Court in Inverness.
