Full casting announced for new musical RUMI at London Coliseum
Full casting has been revealed ahead of the world premiere of new musical Rumi, which plays at the London Coliseum on 23 & 24 November.
Written by Dana Al Fardan and Nadim Naaman, the cast includes Ramin Karimloo, Nadim Naaman, Casey Al-Shaqsy, Soophia Foroughi, Ahmed Hamad, Yazdan Qafouri, Johan Munir and Benjamin Armstrong.
Completing the company are Roshani Abbey, Amira Al Shanti, Eva-Theresa Chokarian, Maëva Feitelson, Sasha Ghoshal, Blythe Jandoo, Ediz Mahmut, Zara Naeem, Mark Samaras and Aliza Vakil.
The performers will be accompanied by a 29-piece orchestra, conducted by the show's orchestrator and arranger Joe Davison, with vocal arrangements by Nikki Davison.
The musical tells the story of the legendary 13th century poet Rumi, and is directed by Bronagh Lagan, with choreography by Anjali Mehra.
Middle Eastern musical supervision is by Maias Alyamani, with set and costume design by Gregor Donnelly, lighting by Nic Farman, sound by Simon Hendry and video by Matt Powell.
