Kerry Ellis, Alice Fearn, Cassidy Janson and Gina Beck join new Musical Theatre Choir

A new Musical Theatre choir is bringing top West End expertise to almost a thousand singers across the country, supported by some of the West End’s stars including ambassadors Kerry Ellis, Alice Fearn, Cassidy Janson and Gina Beck. 

After launching only three months ago, Sing Space choirs have already supported Gareth Malone on his No.1 tour and in the West End, they are performing at Cadogan Hall, and have been featured on BBC London with Gaby Roslin as well as raising over £3000 for charity. Their ambassadors and partners include Kerry Ellis, Gina Beck, Alice Fearn, Cassidy Janson, West End Best Friend and Aria Entertainment. 

West End vocal coach, Rachel Lynes, said: “Our choirs leaders bring the highest quality and most joyful Musical Theatre experiences to areas that wouldn’t usually have this opportunity. 

With nearly twenty regional choirs - all run by top West End coaches and vocalists - the Sing Space Musical Theatre Choir prioritises community, mental health and national inclusivity. 

“Singing in choirs can reduce stress, and enhance social connection. It can even improve immune function. Getting to perform show tunes in beautiful venues with West End stars is the icing on the cake.’ 

“Our choirs welcome everyone from professional singers who want to fall in love with singing again, to those who have been too nervous to consider singing in public. There is something for everyone: whether you want to hide in a crowd, or try solos, complex harmonies and new singing techniques.”

Launched in the aftermath of the pandemic, Sing Space choirs are providing an antidote to loneliness through show tunes. In a recent survey, Voice Now suggested that only 3% of the population sing regularly.

Rachel added: ‘‘What about the other 97%? We are overjoyed at the success of our initial launch which proved the demand for a Musical Theatre Choir. Now, we are dedicating everything to opening more locations so we can bring this opportunity to more people across the UK.’ 

A new term of The Sing Space Musical Theatre choir launches next week. With locations including London, Manchester, Bolton, Exeter, York, Lewes, Milton Keynes, Wiltshire, Cambridge and Cumbria, plus new branches in Canterbury and Cheshire opening booking soon.
