Daniel Craig & Ruth Negga to star in upcoming Broadway production of MACBETH

Craig and Negga

It has been announced today that Daniel Craig will return to Broadway in an all-new production of Macbeth at the Lyceum Theatre from 29 March 2022, starring alongside Ruth Negga who makes her Broadway debut as Lady Macbeth.

Directed by Tony Award winner Sam Gold, the production will feature set design by Christine Jones, costumes by Suttirat Larlarb, lighting by Jane Cox, sound by Mikaal Sulaiman, original music by Gaelynn Lea, and special effects by Jeremy Chernick.

A tale of malice, matrimony and murder, MACBETH tells the story of one couple’s obsession with power—and their guilt after doing the unthinkable. For 15 weeks only, this thrilling new production will capture the passion and ferocity of Shakespeare’s most haunting text like never before.

Sam Gold said: “I am beyond thrilled to be participating in this historic season as theatre re-emerges, and to be working with two such masterful actors on one of dramatic literature’s most challenging and epic dramas. I can’t wait to get started!”

Further casting will be announced at a later date.

Tickets will go on general sale on 8 October at 10am.
