Transatlantic production of Lucinda Coxon’s HERDING CATS announced

Herding Cats

New York based, Olivier Award-winning and Tony-nominated OHenry Productions and Stellar have today announced a new production of Lucinda Coxon’s “chillingly funny” play Herding Cats, in association with Soho Theatre. Here’s the exciting part, Besties: this special collaboration is going truly transatlantic, as it’ll combine live in-person and streamed theatre!

Simultaneously available to audiences across the world, in line with UK Government guidelines around social distancing, in-person performances will run at the Soho Theatre from 20–23 May 2021. The Stellar original production will feature two actors performing live in person, with the third joining live via video from the United States. Directed by Anthony Banks, this revival utilises the best of creativity brought about by the pandemic, alongside the joy of being in an intimate audience. Banks and Coxon collaborate once again after joining forces for the world premiere production.

The creative team also includes Olivier-nominee lighting designer Howard Hudson, costume designer Susan Kulkarni, set designer Grace Smart, and sound designers Ben and Max Ringham.

Herding Cats follows Justine, Michael and Saddo as they try to balance the demands of modern life whilst striving for intimacy and independence in the 21st century.

Meeting the demands of modern life is as impossible as herding cats for Justine, Michael and Saddo. To deal with work, Justine talks - a little too much - to her roommate Michael who earns a living by chatting with strangers like Saddo. But all three will soon find that in a cold, disconnected world, words may not be enough…

Casting is to be announced.
