Tickets now on sale for 2024 BLACK BRITISH THEATRE AWARDS

Ticket sales for the Black British Theatre Awards are now open, with the ceremony set to take place on 4 November at the home of Disney’s The Lion King, the Lyceum Theatre in London.

Now in their sixth year, the awards seek to celebrate the excellence and influence of black performers and creatives in the theatre industry.

As one of the most highly anticipated events in British theatre, the 2024 edition of the awards will bring together the best of black British theatre and will recognise excellence across several broad category groups. These include the Creatives Group, which recognises producers, directors, and performers; the Recognition Group, which covers lighting, sound, and theatre design as well as book and lyrics, casting, and playwrights; Plays; and Musicals. Other category groups include the Champions Group, which recognises child and non-binary performers as well as LGBTQIA+ and disability champions and the Achievement Awards, which honour teachers, graduates, and lifetime achievers.

Co-Founders and Directors, Solange Urdang OBE and Omar F Okai, said: “We’re incredibly excited about this year’s edition of the awards. The standard of the performances and productions that we recognise continues to rise every year. We’re also excited to be in a new venue in the shape of the Lyceum Theatre, which is set to ignite a new era of collaboration and creativity.”

With exciting presenters from the world of stage and screen to be announced, the evening will also feature performances, productions and dedication from some of 2024’s most popular theatre productions, including the cast of The Lion King.
