Following the recent announcement that Stranger Things: The First Shadow will open on Broadway in 2025, Netflix and Sonia Friedman Productions have announced new casting for the critically acclaimed, Olivier Award winning, world première production, currently running at Phoenix Theatre in London’s West End.

As the show approaches its first anniversary in the West End, Louis Healy (The Full Monty, UK tour/West End) will take over the role of Henry Creel, with Callum Maxwell (Peter Pan, Gate Theatre) as Bob Newby, Miranda Mufema (Romeo and Juliet, Brighton Festival) as Patty Newby, Luke Mullins (The Tempest, Theatre Royal Bath) as Dr Brenner, Jessica Rhodes (The Tempest, RSC) as Joyce Maldonado, and George Smale (AS-NT, Theatre 503) as James Hopper Jr. They will join the production from 14 November, with full casting to be announced.

Director Stephen Daldry and co-director Justin Martin said: “As we enter our second year, we are thrilled to have assembled an incredible cast with new and familiar faces to take us back to Hawkins 1959. We look forward to getting into the rehearsal room with them and exploring the characters anew.”

Also announced today, the production extends until 6 April 2025.
