New dates for the live-streamed world premiere of Three Kings have been announced today by the Old Vic. The show, which was originally due to be performed late July, has now been moved to the 3-5 September 2020. The production has already had to be delayed twice, due to Andrew Scott requiring minor surgery.

The Olivier and Emmy nominee will star as Patrick, a man looking back on the role his father played in shaping his life after eight years of absence.

The monologue play was written by Stephen Beresford, specifically for Scott, and will be directed by Artistic Director of the Old Vic, Matthew Warchus, along with associate director Katy Rudd. Three Kings reunites Warchus and Scott, with the pair having worked together last year on the production of Present Laughter, a play which saw Scott win the Best Actor in a Play Award at the 20th Annual WhatsOnStage Awards.

The show will be part of the London theatre’s Old Vic: In Camera programming and will stream live directly from the stage, with a backdrop of the empty auditorium. It will be available to watch around the world via Zoom and all shows will be captioned, with audio description available.
