The Windmill Soho to open in June hosting theatrical dining experiences
Further details have been revealed following the licence approval to turn former West End strip club, the Windmill, into a 250-seat auditorium.
The owners guarantee a dinner-theatre experience that offers “a modern twist on cabaret” and there are even plans for a speakeasy in the basement of the venue, named after Laura Henderson who bought the Windmill in 1931 and introduced nude tableaus to the venue.
Following a £10 million refurbishment, the Windmill Soho will open in June as a venue hosting theatrical dining experiences.
Set across three floors, the theatre also acts as the main restaurant, with The Palais de Luxe bar and private room the Royal Box upstairs, and the 100-capacity Henderson’s speakeasy beneath the theatre.
The production side of the venue will be run by Elizabeth West and Camilla Bishti, supported by Romain Pissenem and creative production company High Scream. They promise to bring “the biggest names in entertainment and [provide] a platform for the next generation of rising stars to perform”.
The dinner shows will be hosted by a resident compère, with the performances accompanied by a menu created by Michelin-starred chef Andrew McLeish.
