Special 50th Anniversary edition of JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR album to be released

Marking the 50th anniversary of the 1970 concept double album of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s Jesus Christ Superstar, a selection of special edition albums are set to be released on 17 September.

The album not only features the iconic music from the rock musical but also exclusive demos, commentaries, interviews and much more.

The new editions have been re-mastered at Abbey Road and includes a 10x10" 3-CD Celebration Box Set with exclusive unreleased material, complete with a 100-page hardback booklet. Inside, fans can dive into interviews between Lloyd Webber and Rice, essays from famous figures including Nile Rodgers and Matt Berry, the 1970 lyric book, memorabilia from Rice’s personal collection and more.

A 2-CD Digipak set, 2-LP gatefold edition will also be released which has been half-speed mastered, and a replica of the original 1970 fold-out envelope sleeve. These special anniversary editions are also available in SD/ HD/ MFIT versions in deluxe and standard edition.
