Southampton’s Mayflower Theatre cancels panto due to indisposition of cast members
Sleeping Beauty, which was scheduled to run at Southampton’s Mayflower Theatre until 3 January, has been cancelled due to cast members being “indisposed”.
One of only a few pantomimes able to run this Christmas, the QDOS production opened on 19 December, starring Joe Pasquale and Lesley Joseph, but is cancelling the rest of the run despite the area’s current Tier 2 status.
Chief Executive Michael Ockwell said: "We’ve had a couple of members of the cast who have been indisposed, which has meant that we can’t do the full socially distanced show, but also with the rising rates of coronavirus in the south, we feel that the sensible way forward is to cancel the rest of the run."
Ticket holders will be contacted by the venue’s box office in due course to issue a full refund.
