Stephen Sondheim's OLD FRIENDS to return to the West End with Bernadette Peters and Lea Salonga

It has been announced at the Whatsonstage Awards this evening (12 February) that Stephen Sondheim’s Old Friends will return to London’s Gielgud Theatre for a full run from 16 September.

Playing for a 16-week limited season, the show will see the return of several stars from the concert production in May including Bernadette Peters, Christine Allado, Janie Dee, Bonnie Langford and Jeremy Secomb.

Joining them will be Lea Salonga, Beatrice Penny-Touré, Joanna Riding and Jac Yarrow, with further casting to be revealed.

The production is directed by Matthew Bourne, with Julia McKenzie, and choreography by Stephen Mear. It is conducted by Alfonso Casado Trigo, with musical supervision by Stephen Brooker, musical arrangements by Stephen Metcalfe, set design by Matt Kinley, projection design by George Reeve, lighting by Warren Letton and sound by Mick Potter.

Tickets go on sale on 22 February at 11am to priority bookers and DMT Plus members, with a general on-sale on 27 February at 11am.
