New Broadway musical Sing Street rescheduled to open late 2021-2022

Sing Street

Originally scheduled to open at the Lyceum Theatre in March 2020, new Broadway musical Sing Street will now begin performances either late 2021 or 2022 at a Shubert Theatre to be announced.

The show’s producer said: "We want to be responsible and strategic about creating a proper runway to launch our new musical on Broadway, which includes a longer period of time from when Broadway theater reopens.”

From Enda Walsh (Once), Sing Street is an original story directed by Tony award-winner Rebecca Taichman, with music and lyrics by Gary Clark and John Carney (who wrote and directed the hit indie film) and choreographed by Sonya Tayeh.

The sold-out world premiere of Sing Street opened at the New York Theatre Workshop in November 2019, where it was nominated for the Drama League's Outstanding Production of a Musical Award and the Off Broadway Alliances' Best New Musical Award.
