Samuel Bailey’s SHOOK to premiere on Sky Arts

Papatango have today announced that, following Samuel Bailey’s nomination for The Times Breakthrough Award at the South Bank Sky Arts Awards, the film of his critically acclaimed debut play Shook will have its television premiere on 24 June. It will then be re-released online from 25 June to 31 July.  

As the sole nominee in the theatre category, Samuel Bailey is also the subject of this season’s South Bank Show series, with his profile by Melvyn Bragg airing on Sky Arts at 9pm on 24 June, with Shook premiering directly afterwards. 

The show will then be available to watch online, with streaming tickets costing £10 per household for 48 hours of access. You can book tickets to watch online here.

Shook tells the story of three young offenders who are due to become fathers while incarcerated. As Cain, Riyad and Jonjo embark on parenting classes under the instruction of Grace, their different histories slowly emerge, and their different futures take shape.
