Roald Dahl’s gruesome tale, The Twits, will be available as an online theatrical reading from 5 September, some 40 years after it was originally published.

The reading will be split into three 20-minute episodes and streamed for free on the Unicorn Theatre’s Youtube channel and also on the Guardian website.

The story, aimed at 6-12 year olds, will be performed by Martina Laird (Julius Caesar) and Zubin Varla (Equus), directed by Ned Bennett, designed by Georgia Lowe and composed by Giles Thomas.

The Twits will be available to view from 5 September to 30 November.
