PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT puts out open call for trans performers
An open call has been put out for trans performers for the upcoming UK tour of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
Applicants must be available from 27 May - 7 December 2021 and should either be strong dancers or strong singers that can move.
As previously reported, the production is scheduled to open at the Everyman Theatre, Cheltenham on 23 June 2021 before visiting Leeds Grand Theatre, Hull New Theatre, Oxford New Theatre, Theatre Royal Bath, Royal & Derngate, Northampton, Glasgow King's Theatre, New Wimbledon Theatre, Birmingham Hippodrome, Palace Theatre, Southend, Curve Leicester, Bristol Hippodrome and Mayflower Theatre, Southampton.
It is also hoped that Priscilla will return to the West End following the tour, but no further details on this have been revealed.
The production is directed by Ian Talbot, with choreography by Tom Jackson-Greaves, design by Phil R Daniels and Charles Cusick Smith, musical supervision by Stephen 'Spud' Murphy, musical direction from Sean Green, lighting by Ben Cracknell and sound by Ben Harrison.
