Prime Minister in talks with Andrew Lloyd Webber over CINDERELLA

ALW Cinderella

In light of last night’s announcement, Boris Johnson has revealed that he is “in talks” with Andrew Lloyd Webber regarding the planned opening of his new musical Cinderella in the West End later this month.

Lloyd Webber has certainly been vocal about his view of the government delaying lifting restrictions, previously saying that he was prepared to be arrested if the government prevented him from opening his production. However, the Prime Minister said that he has “colossal admiration” for the legendary composer and the government will therefore do whatever they can to be “helpful”. It is thought that the pilot events Johnson mentioned in the press conference will include Cinderella.

Cinderella is currently scheduled to officially open on 14 July at the Gillian Lynne Theatre in the West End, with previews starting on 25 June.

More information will follow in due course.
