Primary Stages has announced that its production of The Night Watcher, starring and written by Obie Award winner and Tony Award nominee Charlayne Woodard, will receive an encore run following its successful stream in November 2020.

The Night Watcher was originally presented in Primary Stages’ 2009/10 season at 59E59 and is an auto-biographical, one-woman play by actress-playwright, Charlayne Woodard.

A best friend, advisor, confidant and sage to the many young people who call her “Auntie,” Woodard is childless only by biological standards. Told with penetrating grace and candor, she beautifully weaves together stories of the ordinary and extraordinary ways she has mentored the children in her life. The piece provides an intimate look at the various definitions of parenthood.

The Night Watcher will be available to stream free of charge from 17-28 February, but advance registration is required.
