Rumours have been circulating about a Dirty Dancing sequel for a while now but it’s finally been confirmed!

Having played Baby in the original film, Jennifer Grey is set to star in the follow-up, which will be written by Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis and directed by Jonathan Levine.

As opposed to the 2004 Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights film, the movie that is being developed will be a full narrative successor to the much-loved 1987 classic.

Further casting and a release date is yet to be announced.

The stage adaptation of Dirty Dancing was, at the time, the fastest selling show in West End theatre history, with advance bookings totalling £15 million.
