Orange Tree Theatre announces full cast for the return of Terence Rattigan’s WHILE THE SUN SHINES
The Orange Tree Theatre has announced today that Terence Rattigan’s While The Sun Shines will be returning to its stage following a successful sold out run in 2019.
The production, which opens on 24 November following previews from 20 November, will be directed by Paul Miller and runs until 8 January 2022.
The show follows Bobby, the Earl of Harpenden, on the eve of his wedding as he offers his room to Joe, an American soldier he met the previous evening. Enter his fiancée, Lady Elizabeth, and Bobby’s future father-in-law. A case of mistaken identity and a French lieutenant later and you have a charming comedy on your hands.
Returning to the production will be John Hudson in the role of Horton, Philip Labey in the role of The Earl of Harpendon, Michael Lumsden as The Duke of Ayr and Stirling and Jordan Mifsúd as Lieutenant Colbert.
Joining the original cast members will be Rebecca Collingwodd as Lady Elisabeth Randall, Conor Glean as Lieutenant Mulvaney and Sophie Khan as Mabel Crum.
While The Sun Shines will also have livestreamed performances on 6 & 7 January.
Director Paul Miller is joined by designer Simon Drew, lighting designer Mark Doubleday, and sound designer and composer Elizabeth Purnell.
