Nottingham dancers to feature in pay-what-you-can Christmas show

Darley Dance Productions

East Midlands-based professional dance company, Darley Dance Productions, have announced that their popular annual event, The Christmas Show, will move online this year due to current Coronavirus restrictions, with pay-what-you-can ticketing.

The Christmas Show is an original festive variety show, performed by professional dancers and singers, suitable for the whole family.

Since its conception in 2018, the show has toured around local venues but this year, the show will be recorded professionally and distributed to ticket holders virtually.

To gain access to the performance, the company ask that you donate what you can to the Darley Dance crowdfunder. Only if £10,000 is raised by 5 November at 8pm will the online event be able to go ahead.

Founder and Owner of Darley Dance Productions, Abbi Burns, said: “We really hope that the public support us in raising this much-needed £10,000. Even the smallest donations add up and are so much appreciated by us. As a team, we want to bring joy to families this year through The Christmas Show Online and allow families to stay safe and enjoy it at home, but that will only be possible if the full £10,000 is raised.

“It’s also really important that we think of the freelance performers in these times who we use in our shows and events and who have been out of work for the last six months. By putting on our annual show, we’d be able to provide payment to our fantastic cast, something which we feel really passionately about”.
