New Vic presents programme of free online theatre skills masterclasses in lockdown
Free interactive virtual workshops are being offered by the New Vic to people who wish to learn or further their creative skills during the lockdown.
Led by New Vic staff, their expertise will be shared in a number of practical online masterclasses between 26 January - 11 February.
The sessions will cater for all ages and skill levels and aim to give participants a fun insight into the world of theatre-making, including practical sound design, lighting, the role of a Deputy Stage Manager and special effects with make-up. For younger children and their families, the venue is also running a ‘Boogie Beats’ music and movement session on 27 January and a ‘Teddy Tales’ storytelling get-together on 4 February.
There will be a mix of practical demonstrations and activities during the sessions and participants can join in using simple software and items from around their homes.
