A brand new 80-seat theatre will open in Camberwell this Autumn.

The Golden Goose, located a short distance from Oval tube station, will start performances next month. The space is founded by Writer/Director Michael Kingsbury and led by Artistic Director Georgia Leanne Harris.

The venue’s socially distanced Autumn season will feature the professional UK premiere of the Off-Broadway musical, Now. Here. This, from the creators of [title of show]. Running from 20-24 October, it has a book by Hunter Bell and Susan Blackwell, with music and lyrics by Jeff Bowen. Starring in the new production about a group of characters reflecting on the world around them will be Ash Weir, Matthew Westrope, Ruby Lyon and Griffin Jenkins.

Other highlights include a revival of Living With The Lights On by Mark Lockyer (13-17 October), a new piece called Eating Myself (10-14 November) and Mark Farrelly’s Howerd’s End.

Harris said: "It's incredibly lucky to be able to offer opportunities, space and engagement at a time when some buildings have been forced to withdraw these things, and we hope we can be a small part of getting this wonderful industry back on its feet.

"Perhaps we can be a small light coming back on in what has been – and continues to be – a very difficult time for theatre and the arts."
