New song released from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s CINDERELLA

Carrie Hope Fletcher

Polydor Records have announced the third song to be released from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s upcoming production of Cinderella

‘I Know I Have a Heart’ joins the previously released ‘Bad Cinderella’ and ‘Only You, Lonely You’ on the full album, which will be released in the Spring. The album, which we know so far to feature Carrie Hope Fletcher in the titular role, Victoria Hamilton-Barritt as the Stepmother and Ivano Turco as the Prince, is available to pre-order now.

The new version of Cinderella is written and created by double Golden Globe-nominee Emerald Fennell (Killing Eve) with David Zippel putting lyrics to Lloyd Webber’s music.

Lloyd Webber said: “I knew we needed a big power ballad moment for Cinderella and I am excited for you to finally hear it. These things tend to come to you when you least expect them and I wrote this melody on the plane to LA. I sent it on to our lyricist and almost instantly David Zippel came back with a fantastic line, “I know I have a heart because you broke it.” ‘I Know I Have a Heartis Cinderella’s “unrequited love moment” in the show but I won’t tell you more than that other than what a thrill it is to have a voice like Carrie’s record it”.

The complete reinvention of the classic fairy-tale reunites Lloyd Webber with director Laurence Connor and choreographer JoAnn M Hunter, whom he worked with on School of Rock and Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

The production is currently due to open in Spring 2021 at the Gillian Lynne Theatre.
