It has been reported that a musical production of George Orwell's Animal Farm is in the works, with a stellar creative team confirmed.

Playwright James Graham is said to be penning the book, with music by Alan Menken and lyrics by Glenn Slater.

Producer Adam Spiegel said that a director hasn't been signed for the project yet but a workshop has been scheduled for Spring 2021.

Animal Farm tells the story of a group of farm animals who rebel against their human farmer, hoping to create a society where the animals can be equal, free, and happy. Ultimately, however, the rebellion is betrayed, and the farm ends up in a state as bad as it was before, under the dictatorship of a pig named Napoleon.
