New film adaptation of CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF announced

A new film adaptation of Tennessee Williams’ Cat On A Hot Tin Roof has been announced.

Antoine Fuqua has been confirmed to direct and produce, alongside Stephen C. Byrd and Alia Jones-Harvey who backed the sold-out 2008 revival of the show on Broadway and the successive West End transfer.

The theatre production was directed by Debbie Allen and featured Terrence Howard, Anika Noni Rose, Phylicia Rashad and James Earl Jones on Broadway, then Adrian Lester and Sanaa Lathan in the West End.

Filmmakers said that they “will combine elements of the play with new storylines and weave them together to bring the production to the big screen.”
