New Beatles musical SHE LOVES YOU to premiere in 2022

Presented by Danish producer Mikkel Rønnow and Nordic Musical Partners, new musical She Loves You is in development, based on an original book and featuring songs from John Lennon & Paul McCartney’s back catalogue. 

The musical tells the story of a modern family and their journey through love; with young love, long term love for children and careers, and love which flourishes later in life. The production will premiere at Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen in March 2022 with Danish singer Maria Lucia leading the cast. 

The production will feature Danish dialogue and more than 40 English-language songs by The Beatles between the years of 1963-1970, including beloved hits ‘She Loves You’, ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ and ’Help!’, performed to a 16-piece orchestra. It will be directed by Thom Southerland and after premiering, it will transfer to the Musikhuset in Aarhus, before heading on a Scandinavian tour of Sweden, Norway and Iceland. 

The show features orchestrations by Steve Sidwell, design by Morgan Large, choreography by Nick Winston, lighting by Tim Mitchell and sound by Tim Høyer. Southerland co-writes the book with Shaun McKenna, with a Danish adaptation by Jokum Rohde.
