The Menier Chocolate Factory has today announced that it will recommence live performances from September, and has an additional new studio space called The Mixing Room.

Reopening the Menier Chocolate Factory will be the European premiere of Paul Vogel’s Tony Award-winning production, Indecent, running from 3 September-27 November. Opening The Mixing Room will be the world premiere of Brian & Roger - A Highly Offensive Play, which has been inspired by their podcast Brian & Roger; written and performed by Harry Peacock and Dan Skinner from 22 October-18 December.

The previous announced much-anticipated production of Alan Bennett’s Habeus Corpus will come to The Menier from 3 December 2021 - 26 February 2022 and will be directed by Patrick Marber.

Artistic Director at the Menier, David Babani, today said: “We couldn’t open with any other production – Indecent was days into previews when we had to shut down in March last year, and we were determined to reunite our brilliant company of actors and share Rebecca’s beautiful production with audiences here in the UK; the themes of which could not be more timely and prescient for the moment we find ourselves in. It’s also a joy to also be able to reschedule Habeas Corpus which sees Patrick Marber return to the theatre after his recent success with Travesties. Opening our new smaller studio space, The Mixing Room, is the stage première Brian & Roger – A Highly Offensive Play, bringing a much-needed dose of comedy to our audiences.”

If patrons already have existing bookings for Indecent or Habeus Corpus, they will need to contact the box office in order to rebook for the new performance dates. If you wish to book tickets, please click here.
