JAGGED LITTLE PILL wins Grammy Award for Best Musical Theatre Album
In the 63rd Grammy Awards ceremony airing on CBS last night, Broadway musical Jagged Little Pill was announced as the 2021 winner of the award for Best Musical Theatre Album.
Other musicals nominated in the category were Amelie, American Utopia, Little Shop of Horrors, The Prince of Egypt and Soft Power.
This exhilarating new musical is inspired by the themes and emotions expressed in composer/lyricist Alanis Morissette’s album of the same name.
The Healys appear to be a picture-perfect suburban family - but looks can be deceiving. When the cracks beneath the surface begin to show, they must choose between maintaining the status quo or facing harsh truths about themselves, their community, and the world around them.
The original Broadway cast who feature on the album includes Antonio Cipriano, Kathryn Gallagher, Celia Rose Gooding, Logan Hart, Derek Klena, Sean Allan Krill, Lauren Patten and Elizabeth Stanley.
Congratulations to the Jagged Little Pill team and to all of the nominees.
