Initial casting announced for movie adaptation of Take That musical
Deadline.com have reported initial casting for the previously announced movie adaptation of Take That’s musical, The Band.
Whilst no release date has been mentioned yet, three big names are said to be in discussions to star in the film: Ruth Wilson, Cush Jumbo and Rosamund Pike.
The movie is thought to be called Greatest Days and will be written by Tim Firth, directed by Coky Giedroyc with choreography by Drew McOnie, who commented on the news as being “just a bit exciting!” on his Twitter account.
Greatest Days will feature Take That’s greatest hits including ‘Back For Good’, ‘Pray’, ‘A Million Love Songs’, ‘Relight My Fire’ and many more.
The story will follow a group of schoolgirls who have the best night of their lives at a concert from their favourite boy band. After life takes the girls in direct directions, they come together 25 years later to reminisce about their past and look to the future.
