Guy Ritchie to direct live action film adaptation of Disney’s HERCULES

It has been announced that Guy Ritchie will direct Disney’s live action film adaptation of Hercules.

Based on the 1997 animated film, Hercules features music by Alan Menken. The live action movie will include Menken’s original songs as well as some numbers written exclusively for the film.

Hercules tells the story of Hades, who kidnaps the demigod as a baby and forces him to live alongside mortals. Hercules is assisted by the satyr Philoctetes, who teaches him to use his superhuman strength to prove himself worthy of living among the gods on Mount Olympus.

Hercules still needs a screenwriter so it is unlikely to be released until 2024 at the earliest but we are very excited about this one, Besties!
