Philip Pullman’s Grimm Tales performed as theatrical readings at the Unicorn Theatre

Following its recent online production of The Twits, the Unicorn Theatre have now revealed they will be producing a virtual reading of Philip Pullman’s Grimm Tales.

Six actors will perform individual passages from the classic tales on the Unicorn Theatre stage, each directed by a different artist.

The performers taking part will be: Nadia Albina reading Hansel and Gretel (directed by Justin Audibert), Le Gateau Chocolat reading Rumpelstiltskin (directed by Rachel Bagshaw), Colin Morgan reading The Devil With the Three Golden Hairs (directed by Polly Findlay), Andy Umerah reading The Boy Who Left Home to Find Out About the Shivers (directed by Tristan Fynn-Aiduenu), Susan Wokoma reading The Brave Little Tailor (directed by Ola Ince) and Cecilia Noble reading Cinderella (directed by Bijan Sheibani).

The creative team also includes Designer Charlotte Espiner and Composer/Sound Designer Jon McLeod.

The shows will be available to watch online from 5 October-21 February 2021 on the venue’s Youtube channel here.
