Great Scott! It’s the news we’ve all been waiting for! A brand new trailer has revealed this morning that the West End transfer of Back to the Future will open at the Adelphi Theatre in May 2021.

Having had its Manchester run cut short because of the Covid-19 outbreak, audiences have been chomping at the bit ever since for information about its future and notably its proposed transfer to London. Now finally, producers have announced that previews will begin on 14 May 2021.

The new musical has a book by Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale, adapted from their original screenplay, with music and lyrics by Alan Silvestri and Glen Ballard. It will be directed by John Rando with choreography by Chris Bailey, set/costume design by Tim Hatley, lighting by Hugh Vanstone and sound by Gareth Owen.

Tony Award winner Roger Bart and Olly Dobson will be reprising their roles as Doc Brown and Marty McFly respectively. Full casting details will be announced in due course.
