Creative team and new production dates announced for site-specific virtual production of THE LAST 5 YEARS

Out of the Box Theatrics, Holmdel Theatre Company and Blair Russell have announced further details about their upcoming site-specific virtual production of The Last 5 Years.

Starring in this production of Jason Robert Brown’s hit musical will be Nasia Thomas (Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of the Temptations, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical) and Nicholas Edwards (Frozen). The performers will rehearse remotely with the show itself being streamed from a New York apartment.

Tony Award winner Jason Michael Webb will both direct and musically direct the production, with costumes by Siene Zoë Allen and production design by Adam Honoré.

An emotionally powerful and intimate musical about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years, The Last Five Years’ unconventional structure consists of Cathy, the woman, telling her story backwards while Jamie, the man, tells his story chronologically; the two characters only meet once, at their wedding in the middle of the show.
