Fisherman’s Friends musical announced ahead of UK tour and planned West End run

Fisherman's Friends

A brand new musical based on the true story of Cornish singing sensations and 2019 film, Fisherman’s Friends, has been announced.

The show is due to re-open the Truro Hall for Cornwall following its £20 million redevelopment in Autumn 2021, before embarking on a UK tour. It is then eyeing up a West End run in 2022.

When a group of Cornish fisherman came together to sing the traditional working songs they’d sung for generations, they hoped to raise a few quid for charity. Nobody, least of all the fisherman, expected the story to end on the Pyramid stage of Glastonbury….

Fisherman’s Friends: The Musical has a book by Brad Birch and will be directed by James Greive. It will be designed by Lucy Osborne with musical supervision by David White.
