First look at Cambridge’s highly anticipated Town and Gown Pub & Theatre

Town & Gown In The Round

Originally due to open in April 2020, our nemesis ‘Rona temporarily put a hold on launch plans for the Town and Gown Pub & Theatre. However, the team behind the hottest new multi-purpose venue in Cambridge have fought tooth and nail to get it ready for the public. And here it is, Besties…

The 1866 building, formerly Cambridge’s Arts Cinema, is finally able to open its doors on 15 September, with socially distanced performances in their flexible fringe theatre beginning on 10 October.

The flexible performance space will feature the best of UK touring fringe theatre, cabaret, new writing and musical theatre and can accommodate up to 110 audience members ‘in the round’ but can also play in thrust, traverse and end on formations.
