Finn Anderson’s award-winning musical Islander releases original cast album

Islander

An original cast album of Finn Anderson’s stunning Scottish-folk inspired musical, Islander, has been released.

With a book by Stewart Melton and conceived by Amy Draper (who also directed the stage production), Islander is inspired by the sights, sounds and smells of the wind-beaten, wave-struck Isle of Mull and explores themes of loss, identity, migration and home.

Eilidh stares out to sea and dreams of a new life beyond her lonely island. Myth and reality collide when the tide washes a mysterious stranger onto her beach, changing her life forever.

The two-hander won the Musical Theatre Review award for Best Musical at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2019, when it sold out at Summerhall, and the stars featuring on the album are original cast members: Kirsty Findlay (Our  Ladies of Perpetual Succour) and Bethany Tennick who perform multiple roles in the show. The show also enjoyed a successful run at the Southwark Playhouse in October last year.

Previous plans to tour the show nationally have been put on hold but the album release should keep the anticipation at bay until it is safe to put the show back on stage.

Islander: A New Musical cast album is available to purchase through Spotify, iTunes, Amazon & all major online music distributors.
