Broadway’s Gerald Caesar cast in Dear Evan Hansen film

Deadline has reported that Broadway star Gerald Caesar has been cast in the film adaptation of Dear Evan Hansen.

Taking on a new role as a student at Evan’s high school, Caesar joins a star-studded cast including: Ben Platt, Julianne Moore, Amy Adams, Kaitlyn Dever, Danny Pino, Amandla Stenberg, Colton Ryan, Nik Dodani and DeMarius Copes.

Caesar was most recently seen on Broadway in Tina: The Tina Turner Musical prior to the theatre shutdown. He has also appeared in Choir Boy and A Bronx Tale on Broadway, along with the national US tour of The Lion King.

A release date for the Dear Evan Hansen film has yet to be announced.
