English National Opera (ENO) has announced its planned return to the London Coliseum in the autumn, opening with Wagner’s Ring Cycle.

A co-production with the Metropolitan Opera, the first part of the Ring Cycle to be performed will be The Valkyrie, with successive parts being presented over the next five years.

Some 15 years since the Ring Cycle was last performed by ENO, this production will be directed by Richard Jones, conducted by Martyn Brabbins, designed by Stewart Laing and lighting by Adam Silverman. A new English language translation has been commissioned from John Deathridge.

2022/23 will see the premiere of Rheingold, followed by a reprise of The Valkyrie and new productions of Siegfried and Twilight of the Gods staged in 2024 and 2025 respectively.

Specific performance dates will be announced in due course. For more information, please keep an eye on ENO’s website here.
