We previously reported that Disney’s live action film of Mulan had been postponed indefinitely. However, Walt Disney CEO Bob Chapek has now announced that the movie will be coming to Disney+ on 4 September - but as a premium rental.

In a slightly different way of doing things, you won’t need to be a Disney+ subscriber to rent the film but it will cost you $29.99 or a conversion of this amount to watch it.

Once paid, Disney+ subscribers will have unlimited access to the film whilst they remain signed up to the streaming service.

This arrangement is expected to be a one-off release and plans to be added to the normal Disney+ subscription at a later date.
