City of Angels director denies London production has been cancelled

City of Angels

The director of the West End production of City of Angels has strongly denied that the show has been cancelled, following a story that was leaked on social media.

Josie Rourke addressed the rumours that had been circulating on Twitter, saying “the story that prompted a flurry of tweets is untrue”.

She said there is a “strong will” from all involved to bring the Olivier award-winning production back to the West End at a time suitable to do so.

The City of Angels revival premiered in 2014 at the Donmar Warehouse and had only recently opened at the Garrick Theatre before lockdown was enforced.

We adore this show and pray it has the life it deserves post Covid.
