Casting announced for UK & Ireland tour of THE COMMITMENTS
Casting has been announced for the upcoming production of The Commitments, which will begin touring the UK in September.
Coronation Street star Nigel Pivaro, best known for his role as lovable rogue Terry Duckworth in the soap, is set to appear as Da in this new production.
Taken from the best-selling novel by Roddy Doyle, The Commitments tells the story of Jimmy Rabbitte, a young working-class music fan who transforms a group of unlikely amateur musicians into an amazing live act, becoming the finest soul band in Dublin.
The production is directed by Andrew Linnie (who originally played the role of Dean in the West End production in 2013).
Further casting includes Ian McIntosh as Deco, James Killeen as Jimmy, Stuart Reid as Joey, Ciara Mackay as Imelda, Michael Mahony as Oustpan, Ryan Kelly as Billy, Conor Litten as Dean, Guy Freeman as Derek, Stephen O’Riain as James, Ronnie Yorke as Mickah, Eve Kitchingman as Natalie and Sarah Gardiner as Bernie. Maryann Lynch, Alice Croft, James Deegan, Callum Martin, Joshua Barton, Ed Thorpe and Colm Gleeson make up the ensemble.
The Commitments will tour to Bromley, Portsmouth, Wolverhampton, Sheffield, Milton Keynes, Hull, York, Bradford, Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Wimbledon, Truro, Plymouth, Aylesbury, Dublin, Belfast, Ipswich, Bournemouth, Dartford, Bristol, Southampton, Nottingham, Northampton, Liverpool, Birmingham, Blackpool, Darlington, Peterborough, Cardiff, Llandudno, Manchester, Reading, Newcastle and Brighton.
