Casting announced for COPPELIA by KVN Dance Company at the Cockpit Theatre

KVN Dance Company have announced the cast for their upcoming world premiere of Coppelia by choreographer and director Kevan Allen.

This complete reimagining of the classic ballet will be opening for a strictly limited run from 2-11 September at the Cockpit Theatre.

The cast of 13 dancers come from a range of training and professional backgrounds, which echoes the company’s mission to bring dance in all its forms to the widest possible audience.

The role of Dr Coppelius will be performed by Michael Downing, whose previous credits include Peter and the Wolf at the Hackney Empire, as well as music videos for international popstars such as Olly Murs, MK, and Becky Hill.

Marina Fraser will be playing the role of Swanhilder. She has previously danced with The Royal Ballet, the English National Ballet, and the Viviana Durante Company. Danny Fogarty (Bridgerton) will appear as Franz.

Joining them is Rosie Southall (Snow White), Laura Braid (core member of BirdGang), Evonnee Bentley-Holder (Guys and Dolls), Ediz Ibrahim (Bridgerton) , Tamsin January (All or Nothing – The Mod Musical), Thomas Charles (A Christmas Carol), Jeanie Ryan (Flashdance the musical), Zach Parkin (New Adventures: Swan Lake, Edward Scissorhands), Diante Lodge (The Best of the West End), and Ellis Rose Rother (The Crown, Jingle Jangle).
