Cast announced for world premiere of FAYGELE at Marylebone Theatre
Casting has been announced for the world premiere of Shimmy Braun’s Faygele, directed by Will Nunziata, which plays at London’s Marylebone Theatre from 30 April - 31 May.
At 13, Ari Freed’s world is upended in an instant - when, at his Bar Mitzvah celebration, his father strikes him down with a single word: Faygele. The sting fractures his already delicate sense of self, forcing him into a battle he never asked for.
Faygele is a story of survival in the space between faith and identity, love and duty, past and future - unraveling the complexities of Ari’s adolescence and the relationships that shape him.
The cast includes Ilan Galkoff (Backstairs Billy, West End) as Ari, Ben Caplan (A Sherlock Carol, Marylebone Theatre) as Dr Freed, Clara Francis (Leopoldstadt, West End) as Mrs Freed, Andrew Paul (The Bill, ITV) as Rabbi Lev, and Yiftach Mizrahi (The Greenhouse Academy, Netflix) as Sammy Stein.
Joing director Will Nunziata on the creative team are set and costume designer David Shields, lighting designer Tony P. Darvill, sound designer Dan Samson, and casting director Rob Kelly.
