Theatre Bury St Edmunds launches new series with Downton Abbey stars

At Home with Carmichael and Dockery

Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds is launching a new online series, which they hope is the first step in welcoming guests back to the venue.

At Home With... will be produced in partnership with Theatre Tokens, and sponsored by Churchgates. Beginning Thursday 20 August, the series will see a range of stars in conversation with each other via Zoom.

The first event will feature Downton Abbey’s Laura Carmichael and Michelle Dockery, better known as Lady Edith and Lady Mary, as they chat about their careers, life and much more. Hosted by Artistic Director Owen Calvert-Lyons, ticketholders will also have the opportunity to submit their own questions in advance.

Calvert-Lyons said: "The At Home With... series is part of Theatre Royal's response to the pandemic. After the awful few months our country has been through, hopefully this will offer a little bit of sunshine that you can enjoy from your own home."

Tickets are available to book through the Theatre Tokens website from Monday 27 July at 2pm, with the option to make a donation to the theatre when booking. Three more episodes have already been planned, with special guests yet to be revealed.
