Arts Council England provides additional £33m funding for National Portfolio Organisations

The Arts Council England has announced it will provide £33 million in funding to organisations belonging to the National Portfolio.

The fund will greatly help the sustainability of 196 UK organisations including Theatre Royal Plymouth, Sheffield Theatres, Sadlers Wells, Royal Exchange, The Lowry Centre, Oxford Playhouse, English National Ballet, Nottingham Playhouse and Hackney Empire.

Grants in excess of £1 million have been awarded to Sadlers Wells, ENO and The Lowry Centre, with 39% of all funding being awarded to London organisations, 27% to the North of England, 17% to the Midlands, 9% to the South East and 8% to the South West,

This information has been released following the major new package outlined by the Government on Sunday evening.
